JENNY GOWER.JPGA big TIFT congratulations goes out to eighteen year old Jenny Gower of Katy, Texas.  Jenny has been named the official 2018 Texas International Fishing Tournament hostess.

The daughter of David Gower of South Padre Island and Lisa Gower of Katy, Jenny is currently a freshman at Abilene Christian University, majoring in ministry and vocation with a minor in psychology.   In her spare time Jenny volunteers with Palm House, a mentoring program for disadvantaged children who come from broken homes.  Because of her selection as the 79th TIFT hostess, Jenny will receive a $2000 scholarship toward her continued studies at Abilene Christian University.

Jenny’s family has a long history with TIFT.  Both her father and grandfather have served as TIFT President.  As a result, she started fishing TIFT at the age of three and volunteering at the age of 12.  She has done everything from stuffing goody bags, helping with registration, assisting with Playday to finally being old enough to be a Dockworker last year.  Over the years, she has made lifelong friends through her involvement with TIFT.  To Jenny, being named TIFT Hostess means representing the passion and love she has for the tournament.

The TIFT board of directors know Jenny’s energy and enthusiasm will be evident throughout the 79th annual fishing tournament.
